A. William "Bill" Jones

A. William “Bill” Jones, of Mukwonago, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. The great-grandson of Waukesha County’s pioneers, he was born in Waukesha on June 29, 1927 the son of Arthur William and Elsie (nee Ebel) Jones. He was a graduate of Waukesha High School and on March 5, 1949 he married Lois Turner. Bill was a lifelong Waukesha County Farmer. He was President of the Waukesha County Farm Bureau, a member of the Oconomowoc Saddle Club and the Guernsey Breeders Association. Bill was also an avid pilot and member of the Waukesha Aviation Club. He was a longtime member and former Deacon of Waukesha First Assembly.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Lois of Mukwonago and their children, Jean (Robert) Lindholm of Upper Michigan, Sue (Michael) Wollenzien of Mukwonago, William S. (Sue) Jones of Sullivan, Ann E. (Jerry) Oven of Pewaukee and James A. Jones of Oak Creek. He was the proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 9 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother Sterling Scott Jones of Munich, Germany along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Dr. Lois Mae Jones and Judith Cyncor.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 3:00PM until the time of the 4:00PM funeral service at Waukesha First Assembly, 1314 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Pastor Todd Pope will preside. Private family burial will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery. If desired, memorials are appreciated to Waukesha First Assembly (Address above).
