Adolf C. Garcia Sr.

Adolf C. Garcia, Sr., of Waukesha, died on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at his home with his family by his side at the age of 89. He was born in Gonzales, TX on September 12, 1924 the son of Longino and Francesca (nee Cantu) Garcia. On August 24, 1944 he married Adele Martinez in Gonzales, TX; she preceded him in death on June 3, 2012. Adolf worked at Grede Foundry for many years retiring in 1989. Following his retirement he worked at Dealers Warehouse. He enjoyed working as a scoutmaster when his children were young and volunteering at La Casa de Esperanza. Adolf served as the director on the board of the Equal Opportunity Commission of Waukesha and as a translator for the City of Waukesha Police Department. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church.

He will be sadly missed by his sons, Adolf (Alison) Garcia, Jr. of Waukesha and Gerald (fiancée Lisa Andersen) Garcia of New Berlin and “special father” to Joe Ray Hinojosa, Esmeralda Hernandez and Wally Trevino. He had a special place in his heart for his 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, and his wife Adele he was preceded in death by his daughter Sonya Garcia in 1977 and his 9 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Services will continue on Friday, February 28th at the funeral home with a visitation from 10:00AM until the time of the 11:00AM funeral service.
