Our beloved mom, Agnes C. Carmichael, of Waukesha, went to be with Jesus on September 4, 2019. She was 98 years old and will be truly missed by her many friends and family.
Agnes was born on January 29, 1921 in Waukesha. She was the daughter of Albert and Lavora (nee Luke) Price and graduated from Waukesha High School in 1939. She married Ralph “Whitey” Carmichael in 1945; he preceded her in death on October 25, 1981. Together they raised four children: the late Kathleen (the late Tom) Voss, John (Joanie) Carmichael of Waukesha, Mary (Tom) O’Grady of Ellison Bay, and Bill Carmichael of Juneau. Agnes is also survived by six grandchildren and was known as “GG” to her nine great-grandchildren. Numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will also miss her deeply.
Agnes was a “people person”. She was a beautician for years and also enjoyed volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and The Caring Place. She was a teacher’s aid and taught religious education at St. Mary’s grade school and also helped out at their fall festivals. Agnes was a charter member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She loved doing crafts and being with her many friends. The one thing that brought her the most joy and was her biggest blessing, was being with her family.
A funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Agnes’ life at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 on Friday, September 13, 2019. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s. Family and friends are invited to attend a luncheon following the Mass. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic, or the charity of your choice.
