Aline Garcia- Lopez

Aline M. Garcia Lopez, of Waukesha, died on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Waukesha Springs at the age of 79. She was born in Denton, Texas on August 8, 1928 the daughter of Ramon and Ida (nee Nino) Garcia. In 1944 she married Aquilino Duque Lopez in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1995. Aline was a graduate of UW-Waukesha and Carroll College with degrees in psychology, sociology, Spanish, and social work. She was a board member and founder of Guadalupana and was also the founder for the Augustinian Society. Aline was very involved with bi-lingual education in Waukesha and was the first director of La Casa De Esperanza. She was on the board of United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) in Milwaukee. Aline had a strong friendship with Cesar Chavez and was always very active in many community affairs including being a member of the National Organization of Women (N.O.W.) in Waukesha, a volunteer at the St. Vincent De Paul, the food pantry in Texas, a member of the Women's Democratic Party of Waukesha and a very active member at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a friend to many and was always willing to help anyone in need. She will be sadly missed by her children: Alicia M. (Peter) Lopez-Clapper, Aurora Ortiz-Lopez, Alexander R. (Tami) Lopez, and Aquilino R. "JJ" (Cathy) Lopez all of Waukesha, her grandchildren: Alain A. Lopez, Alexia A. (Juan Carlos) Ortiz-Cerpa, Pedro Joaquin Ortiz, Anna I. Lopez-Gonzales, Adelina M.A. Lopez-Gonzales, Andrew James Lopez, Megan A. Lopez, and Thomas M. Lopez all of Waukesha, her great grandchildren: Addison Lopez, Brandon Monrial, Angelica Ortiz-Gigous, and Cameron Alexander Michael all of Waukesha, and her great great-grandson Miguel LaRue of Waukesha, her sister-in-laws: Libby Garcia, JoAnne Garcia, Christine Garcia, Ann Santana, and Dora Garcia. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, and husband Aquilino, she is preceded in death by her sons Alexander and Alan Daniel, and her siblings, Benjamin, Leno, Earl, Oliver, Mary, Verna, Robert, Chico, and Frank. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI with a rosary service at 8:00 PM. Services continue on Thursday, May 1, 2008 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:45 AM followed by a procession to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha for a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass. Graveside services will follow the mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. If desired, memorials can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church for Masses to be said in Aline's name.
