Amelia Calderon of Waukesha passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at age 87. She was born in San Antonio, TX on May 30, 1932 the daughter of Simon and Francesca (nee Castillo) Martinez. Amelia was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, enjoyed visiting Holy Hill and taking road-trips. Most of all she was devoted to her family, especially enjoying her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her 9 children, Louie (Linda) Calderon Jr., David (Lannette) Calderon, Richard (Bonnie) Calderon, Linda (Leonard) Vasquez, Annie Calderon, Jessie (Bonnie) Calderon, Lino Bernarldino Calderon, Mary Louise (John) Calderon and Larry (Josie) Calderon Sr. She was the proud grandmother of Mindy (Marlon), Connie (Ray), Cristy, Shawn (Lauren), Rachel, Mahleah (Jake), Rafe, Cody (Janeen), Tiffany (Mike), Antonio (Roberta), David (Erica), Leticia (Daniel), Kris (Stacy), Alex Ann (Andrew), Junior Angel (Elizabeth), Rebecca, William (Stephanie), Jackelyn (Myron), Tessie (David), Jessie (Mai’gao) Jr., Cameron, Larry Jr., Belle (Mason) and Cassie (Heath) along with 44 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Lupe Miller, Mike (Lori) Martinez and Mary Mendez, brothers-in-law Stanley Mindiola and Pete Garcia and sisters-in-law Judy Martinez and Delia Martinez along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Louie in 1976, her son Frank, granddaughter Jasmine Flickinger, grandson, Joseph Louie Calderon, sisters, Ophelia Mindiola, Bonnie Garcia and brothers, Simon, Pedro and Blaz Martinez.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Following burial, a continued celebration of Amelia’s life will follow at a location to be determined.
