Anastasia Diaz

Anastasia Diaz of Waukesha was born to Eternal Life on Monday, November 6, 2023 at her home at the age of 89. She was born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico on July 12, 1934 the daughter of Juan and Juana (Jimenez) DeLeon. Anastasia retired from Waukesha Memorial Hospital where she worked as a dietary aide for many years. She was a prayerful woman, a devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Anastasia was the best mother and wife and will always be remembered for her strong devotion to her family.

She will be deeply missed by her eight loving and devoted children, Carmen (Eddie) Pacheco of Milwaukee, Carmen Stein (Diaz) of Mukwonago, Angel L. Diaz Jr. of Waukesha, Eddie Diaz of Appleton, Wanda (Dan) Roth of Waukesha, Hector Diaz of Waukesha, William Diaz of Waukesha, and Anna Delia (Lem) Fishburne of New York. She was the proud grandmother of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Petra Ruiz, Antonia Soto, Ismael (Olga) DeLeon, Robert DeLeon, Raul (Rosa) DeLeon and Frank DeLeon, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Angel L. Diaz Sr. on February 2, 2004; son David John Diaz; brother George (Gladys) DeLeon and granddaughter Blanca Iris Cruz.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. until the 12:00 noon funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha.  Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery for the immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Anastasia’s name are appreciated to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeast Wisconsin.
