Angela DeKluyver Steelman, of Waukesha, WI, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Avalon Square at the age of 92 years. She originally lived in Pleasantville, NJ, where her family owned DeKluyver’s Bakery. After graduating from Pleasantville High School in 1942, where she was class pianist, she went on to graduate from New Jersey College of Commerce and then work for “the Phone Company”. While attending college, she met her future husband Merle whom she married after World War II. She devoted her life to loving and supporting her family as they moved from New Jersey, to Texas, to Kentucky, to South Carolina, to Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Merle Steelman, Jr, and her sister Louise “Wheezy” Kuppel.
She is survived by her two children, Merle III (Deborah), and Jeff (Joyce); her brother Dirk (Micki), her 6 grandchildren, & 9 great grandchildren all of whom loved her very much and will miss her.

Angela’s family would like to express their appreciation for the enormous amount of concern, compassion, and loving care shown by the entire staff at Avalon Square during the 12 years that Angela called Avalon home.
The burial will be held at Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville, NJ.
