Ann C. Huggett, of Waukesha, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at her home at the age of 76. She was born on March 20, 1938 in Waukesha, the daughter of Jerry and Lucille (nee Merten) Atkinson. She was a 1956 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School and a 1960 graduate of Mount Mary College with a degree in Music Education. On June 20, 1964 she married Douglas Huggett. She first taught music in the West Allis School District and then the Waukesha School District, where she met Douglas. While in high school she began teaching private lessons on accordion, piano and organ at the Waukesha Music Center where she worked for many years. In addition she taught part time music at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pewaukee and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Big Bend after raising her children. She was a past member of St. Mary's School Board, past president of Catholic Study Club and current chairman of the Senior League. She has been a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waukesha. She got the most gratification from her 5 grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband Douglas, along with their children James (Melissa) Huggett of Oshkosh, Jerry (Jennifer) Huggett of Waukesha and Holly (Richard) Pollex of Waukesha. Dear grandmother of Nicole and Meghan Pollex and Madalyn, Sam and Caitlin Huggett. She is further survived by her brothers Tom (Marian) Atkinson of Jefferson and Jim (Dianne) Atkinson of North Prairie, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Ann Huggett.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6 from 4:00 p.m. until the 8:00 p.m. rosary service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Prayers continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 7 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the procession to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha for the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials in Ann’s name are appreciated to St. Mary’s School, 221 S. Hartwell Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186.
