Anna Mae Badciong a lifelong Wales resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the age of 79. She was born in Oconomowoc on May 7, 1938 the daughter of Herbert and Elizabeth (nee Rees) Schuster. She was a 1956 graduate of Waukesha High School and a 1960 graduate of Carroll College where she was a member of the Carroll College Alumni Association. On June 25, 1960, she married Franklin Badciong. Anna worked as a teacher for 6 years, before taking time off to raise her family. She then went on to work for Wisconsin Electric for 15 years. Anna was proud of her Welsh heritage and cherished her visit to Wales in 1989. She was actively involved in the Welsh Community and was a member of the Welsh Women’s Club, the Welsh Club of the Milwaukee Area, St. David’s Society of Waukesha County where she served as president and was honorary life trustee of the Welsh Gymanfa Ganu Association of Wisconsin (WGGAW). She was a longtime member of Jerusalem Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and was devoted to organizing the annual church chicken barbeque. She was also a member of PEO International. Most of all, she cherished her family and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 57 years, Franklin of Wales, and their sons, Steven (Ruth) Badciong of Winona, MN, Jeffery (Jean) Badciong of Waukesha, and James (Julie) Badciong of Wauwatosa. She was the proud grandmother of Timothy Badciong, Peter Badciong, Joshua (Kaytlyn) Badciong, Matthew (Heather) Badciong, Megan (Aaron) Cicona and Sydney Badciong and great-grandmother of Aurora and Dylan Badciong and Liliana Cicona. She is further survived by her sister Janet Schuster of Wales, brother Charles (Jackie) Schuster of Hustisford along with cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Herbert and Elizabeth Schuster and step-mother Leona Schuster.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the 7:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Graveside services will take place Tuesday, November 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Jerusalem Cemetery in Wales. Please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Anna’s name are appreciated to St. David’s Society of Waukesha County or the Welsh Gymanfa Ganu Association of Wisconsin (WGGAW).
