Of Waukesha, died peacefully at home on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the age of 83. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 16, 1924 the son of Joseph and Rose (nee Kryzwena) Cook. He served in the Pacific in the U.S. Army Air Force. On September 5, 1951 he married the former Alice Jacobson in Whitewater. Arnie was the education director and principal of the Wales Boys School for more than 25 years until his retirement in 1985. Arnie enjoyed swimming at Carroll University, enjoyed golfing in various golf leagues and had a love for animals. He loved his retirement and riding his bike. He will be dearly missed by his wife Alice of Waukesha, their six children: Michael (Mary) Cook of Wenatchee, WA, Dr. David (Elizabeth) Cook of Wenatchee, WA, Paul (Lin) Cook of Cumming, Georgia, Janet (Jay) Nixon of Racine, Eric (Julie) Cook of Waukesha, and Ellen (Ken) Vandenberg of Brookfield, seventeen grandchildren: Jessica Cook, James (Kalena) Cook, April (Brent) Holland, Rose (Drew) Vanderhoff, Jacob, Clara, and Timothy Cook, Alex and Cait Cook, Dana, Carly, and Lauren Nixon, Jared and Caleb Laufer, Russell, Michael, and Benjamin Vandenberg, and two great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Sierra Cook. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law Lois Kaplan of Waukesha, and Dorothy Gummer of Plainfield, Indiana, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, Arnie is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Leonard and Mary Jane Cook. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 4:00PM until the 7:00PM memorial service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI.
