Arthur W. Mayo

July 4, 1931 — April 30, 2018

Arthur W. Mayo a lifelong resident of Waukesha and Wales, WI died on Monday, April 30, 2018 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 86. He was born in Wales on July 4, 1931 the son of Rose Tessman. He was a 1949 graduate of Waukesha High School and then attended Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Arthur then proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He returned from the service and attended UW-Madison, graduating with his bachelor’s degree in agricultural science. On October 8, 1960 he married JoAnn Chinski and they have been longtime members of Jerusalem Presbyterian Church.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, JoAnn of Wales and their children, David (Carol) Mayo of Westport, CT and New York City and Michael (Amber) Mayo of Wales and his three grandsons, Alex, Ben and Will. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Melba (the late Sylvester) Wright of Arkansas, Mary (Bob) Ramstack of Wales, Herbie (Rena) Mills of Wales, Mabel (Peter) Kiefer of Stevens Point, and Ellis (Kathleen) Mills of Wisconsin Rapids, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the 10:30 a.m. memorial service at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church, 207 W. Main St., Wales, WI 53183. A luncheon will follow at the church.
