Bennie Vasquez, a lifelong Waukesha resident passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 69. He was born in Waukesha on February 15, 1948 to Vinino and Juanita (nee Gonzales) Vasquez. Bennie proudly served his country for more than 15 years in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy. He enjoyed coaching youth football and baseball for many years and was a sports enthusiast. He lived life to the fullest and will be remembered as a wonderful teacher, coach, father and best friend to many, especially is youngest son, Daniel.
He will be sadly missed by his mother, Juanita G. (The late Augustine) Hernandez, Victoria, TX; his longtime girlfriend, Lee Ann Books of Waukesha his children, Daniel Vasquez Waukesha; Carlos (Nereida) Vasquez, Waukesha; Monica Lenore (Garth) Gloucester, England and Scott (Dora) Vasquez of Germantown. He is the proud grandfather of Carlos, Jr., Xavier, Celina, Victoria, Alex and Emilio, great-granddaughter Alaeya. Bennie is further survived by his sisters and brothers, Lena (Greg) Tirri, San Jose, CA; Christina McKenzie (Herman) Hernandez, San Jose, CA; John (Irma) Vasquez, Waukesha; Rick (Kris) Vasquez, Waukesha; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Lee’s children, Kenneth (Lee) Books, Florida; Theresa (Malcum) Books, Milwaukee; Keri (Anna) Books-Ramirez, Waukesha; Christin (Marcos) Books, Waukesha and her grandchildren Anthony, Nathan, Nariyah, Dominic, Devyn, Graciela, Jose, Gabriella, Marcos and Emma. Bennie was preceded in death by his father, Vinino Vasquez and brother Frank Hernandez.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 2:00 PM until the funeral service at 4:30 PM at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave Waukesha, WI 53186.
