Bernard “Bernie” C. Shulfer of Waukesha found eternal peace following a brief illness on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the age of 67. He was born in Stevens Point, WI on November 29, 1951 the son of Edwin and Evelyn (nee Klish) Shulfer. Bernie proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He received two honorable discharges, his first in June 1978 and his second in November 1985. His pride and joy in life was his family and he especially enjoyed being together with them during the holidays. Although a simple and quiet man, Bernie had a great sense of humor, was always positive, pleasant, kind and enjoyed helping others. He found great comfort in his “second home” the NAMI Spring City Corner Clubhouse in Waukesha where he made many friends.
He will be sadly missed by beloved brothers and sisters, Connie Powers, Linda Mace, Christine Shulfer, Joseph Shulfer, Verona Shulfer, Mary Schulfer, Bertha Shulfer, Steve Shulfer and Margaret “Margie” (John) Reyes. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David Shulfer.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until time of the 6:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Pastor Todd Pope will preside. Burial with full military honors will take place on Tuesday, December 18th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, Waukesha. Please meet at the cemetery.
