Lifelong Waukesha resident Betty J. Benson, died Friday, May 1, 2015 at the age of 87. She was born January 18, 1928 to Elmer and Emma (nee Zimmerman) Schwulst. After graduating from high school, Betty worked as a telephone operator for Wisconsin Bell and then as a sales manager for Kohls Department Store, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church since 1993.
Betty will be sadly missed by her children: Jeff (Kim) Nordland of Phillips, WI; Jennifer (Leonard) Caracci of Waukesha; Jeannie (Rick) Cruz of Waukesha; step children: John Benson of Texas and Beverly Benson of Waukesha. She is the dear grandmother to Andy Nordland, Tim Nordland, Lee (Jai) Caracci, Nick (Marina) Caracci, Joe (Mandi) Caracci, Tianna (Mark) Kliewer, Noelle Cruz and great grandmother to Andrew, Elizabeth, Jaxson, Lilly, Chloe, Sofia and Wyatt. She is further survived by her sister, Lois (the late James) Stoll of Waukesha; brother, Eddie (Dorothy) Schwulst of Hartland; sisters-in-law: Karen Schwulst of Waukesha and Peg Schwulst of Mountain Home Ark., nieces, nephews other relatives and friends further survive.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Lee Nordland; her second husband Vernon, died May 8, 2015, her daughter Ruth Ziemann; son-in-law, Dan Ziemann; brothers: Alvin, Melbert, Robert, Richard and Warren Schwulst and sister Bernice (Walter) Kind.
Visitation for Betty & Vernon will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 from 4:00PM until the 7:00PM memorial service at Randle-Dable Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Waukesha, WI. Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 12th at 2:00PM at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to ProHealth Home Care & Hospice, 1020 James Drive Suite E.
