Betty Jane Letts passed away in Pleasanton, California on March 18, 2018. Born January 11, 1924, Betty was the daughter of Henry and Martha Winchell. She was the sixth of eight children. Betty spent most of her life in Waukesha, moving to California in 2011 to be near her children. Betty graduated from Waukesha High School in 1942. She married wartime sweetheart Harry Letts in 1947 who preceded her in death in 1972. Betty was active enjoying bowling, golfing, playing cards and traveling. She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church and was active in the American Legion. Betty worked at Amron Corporation in Waukesha for many years.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, brother Willard “Cy” (Marge) Winchell, sisters Eva (Art) Vehlow, Florence (Lloyd) Williams, Esther (Hank) Bruce, Jeanette (Harvey) Buth, sisters-in-law Audrey Winchell and Elaine Winchell, grandson Eric Darling and dear friend Richard Hagensick.
Betty is survived by brothers Burton Winchell of Pewaukee, Wisconsin and Kenneth Winchell of Mercer, Wisconsin, son Stephan (Kimberly) Letts of San Ramon, California, daughter Cynthia (Dale) Darling of San Ramon, California and granddaughter Kristen [Letts] (Nathan) White of Calgary, Alberta. She is also survived by other relatives and friends. Betty will be missed by all who knew her and she will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 2, 2018 from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM immediately followed by funeral services at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home located at 1110 South Grand Avenue Waukesha, Wisconsin. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
