Beverly L. Vertz, of North Prairie, died on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Waukesha Springs at the age of 88. She was born in Antigo, WI on February 16, 1927 the daughter of Franklin and Lena (nee Steffens) Keen. On August 14, 1954 she married Raymond Vertz at St. Claire Church in North Lake; he preceded her in death on June 4, 2003. Beverly was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed being a member of TOPS and was very active in the North Prairie Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. Beverly loved playing Rummy, baking and going for walks. Most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family and will always be remembered for her kindness, willingness to help others and her outgoing personality.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Audrey (Dale) Gleaser of Oconomowoc, Darlene Vertz of Waukesha, Sandra (David) Zisky of Waukesha and Ronald (Tammy) Vertz of West Bend. She was the dear grandmother of Jolene (Chad) Garlock, Joshua (Jennifer) Gleaser, Brittany (Neal) Neukirchen, David (Cassie) Zisky and Nathaniel Vertz and great-grandmother of Gavin, Brody and Zander Garlock, Lincoln Gleaser, Leo Neukirchen and two on the way. She is further survived by her sister Mary (Martin) Morris of Waukesha, her brother Michael (the late Rosemary) Keen of Sussex, her sister-in-law Betty Keen of Dousman along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Raymond, she was preceded in death by her son Robert, her sisters, Phyllis (Clifford) Vertz and Delores (Jack) Kontos and her brothers Richard and Patrick Keen.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the 7:30 p.m. prayer service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation will continue on Thursday, July 9th at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, S38 W31602 Hwy D (corner of Hwy D & Hwy 83), Genesee Depot, WI 53127 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass. Burial will immediately follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Memorials in Beverly’s name are appreciated to Seasons Hospice, 6400 Shafer Court, Suite 700, Rosemont, IL 60018.
