Bonnie L. Dixon, of Eagle, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at her home at age 72. She was born in Beloit on August 29, 1943 the daughter of Douglas and Marion (nee Hahn) Wenman. On August 19, 1972 she married Donald Dixon. Bonnie was a very loved and devoted first grade teacher for the New Berlin School District for 40 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, was an avid gardener and was a huge Green Bay Packer fan. Bonnie was a faithful member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She will always be remembered for her personable and lovable nature and as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Bonnie was the beloved wife of Donald Dixon of Eagle, loving mother of Elaine Asby of Eagle, Gregory (Sharon Kay) Dixon of Eagle, Michael Dixon of Eagle, Jeff Dixon of Muskego and Robert (Tami) Dixon of Waterford, dear grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and cherished sister of Lois (James) Hazlewood of Mesquite, NV and Douglas (Jan) Wenman of Beloit. She is further survived by 11 nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the 4:00 p.m. funeral service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha, WI 53186. Reverend Kathy Boadwine will preside. Private burial will be held on Saturday at Clinton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bonnie’s name are appreciated to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or to the ALS Association WI Chapter, 3333 N. Mayfair Rd. Suite 213, Wauwatosa, WI 53222.
