Brady Robert Caproon, of Waukesha went to travel the multiverse on September 4th, 2024 following a tragic accident at the age of 17; two days shy of his 18th birthday. He was born in Waukesha on September 6, 2006.
He was the vibrant and adored son of Domanic and Allisun Caproon; Boisterous brother and best friend of Donavan Caproon; Charismatic grandson of Cevin Caproon, and Robert and Judith Burnell; Energetic nephew of many aunties and uncles, great-aunties and great-uncles; Spirited cousin to far too many to mention and an admirable and trustworthy friend to everyone he met. From the start, Brady was on the run. He loved sports and hit his first ball at 2 years old. He was very athletic, excelled at all sports, and could rumble stats off the top of his head. He began playing lacrosse in 2nd grade and became starting varsity goalie his freshman year of high school. Along with his high school team he also played for many clubs, sometimes multiple ones at the same time, running between games and changing jerseys during tournaments. He wasn’t just a player he was everyone’s biggest fan earning the title of “Superfan” for all 3 high schools in Waukesha. Brady was the loudest cheerleader, but he was an old soul that was sweet, caring, kind, and loving.
Brady had a unique quality his family referred to as “Brady Smarts” where he had the innate ability to just know the right thing to say or the right thing to do. He was a brick wall – he was protective, he was supportive, he was there when needed, and each person was a brick in his wall that made him stronger. He turned needs into gifts – food drives, feeding the homeless, supporting a friend in a difficult time, and so on. He was not shy and would walk up to any stranger to get to know them. After meeting someone for the first time he would get a hug and an “I Love You”. His brother considered him his best friend, and his best friends considered him a brother.
Brady liked to travel, the outdoors, and loved an adventure. However, it wasn’t always about the place or activity as he wanted to be with people to create lasting memories. On his social media page, he wrote “consequences are temporary, memories are forever”. His friends say he could turn anytime into a good time and fondly describe him as a brother, family member, teammate, leader of their pack, and best friend to all.
Once Brady got his license, it gave him the ability to be on the run again. He took the “Red Rocket” all over the state, “Uber-ing” his friends wherever they needed to go. His friends were introduced to his eclectic taste in music, as he would get you to listen to and like new music. Brady had the best memory for music lyrics, spanning generations. Not being shy, he would sing everything at the top of his lungs, not caring if he was out of tune.
He was unafraid to be unapologetically Brady. He was one of a kind, a trend-setter, and an artist in his own way. He had his own agenda known only to him. It felt like he was cramming as much life in as possible every day. His goal in life was to make the world a better place. We truly didn’t know the magnitude of Brady’s heart until this tragic accident. People throughout the country and the world have reached out to us and shared a brief encounter to daily interactions of how he made an impact in their lives. There was a mass coordination of events to honor Brady at many of the schools in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Our lives are forever changed, but you will always be our favorite goalie. Thank you for making the ultimate save for others.
