Calvin T Dykeman of Waukesha, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at his home at the age of 85. He was born in Brainard, MN on August 27, 1930, to Forrest T. and Alberta (nee Bassett) Dykeman. On December 31, 1954 he married the former Mary Drury in San Antonio, TX with whom he shared 60 wonderful years and 9 months of marriage. He was a time keeper at Briggs and Stratton, retiring in 1980. Calvin was a longtime member of Faith Baptist Church and served as a member of the choir at Pilgrim Baptist Church. He owned the Erin Motel and Restaurant and enjoyed cooking at his restaurant.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary, of Waukesha, along with their children Joanne (Dale) Spreng of Hubertus, Rodney Dykeman of Milwaukee and Robert (Dolly) Dykeman of Waukesha. He is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sisters Barbara Hajek of Slinger, Karen (Dave) Hoffman of FL, brother Richard (Anne) Dykeman of Mequon, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughters Vickie Dykeman and Gail Huff, and his sister Eunice Jean.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral service at Faith Baptist Church, 3250 Summit Ave, Waukesha. Military honors will follow the church service.
