Calvin Kuenzi

Calvin B. “Cal” Kuenzi, longtime Waukesha resident, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the age of 47.  He was born on April 19, 1962 in Waukesha to John and Valeta (nee:  Brown) Kuenzi.  He was a 1980 graduate of Waukesha South High School, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology in 1984 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 both from UW Madison.  He worked for 2 years in Madison before becoming a partner at Kuenzi Family Pet Hospital in 1990.  He was a member of the Waukesha Kiwanis Club, member of committees for the Wisconsin Veterinary Medicine Association, officer for the Waukesha County Veterinary Association during which time he served on the Board of Directors for HAWS.  Cal was a volunteer for 4-H and at the Waukesha County Fair.  He was an outdoorsman and a fanatic Packer fan.  He loved being a father, spending time with his children, all his nieces and nephews and his Labrador Ellie.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Gloria (nee:  Castillo), whom he married on July 6, 1994, along with their children Virginia, Noah and Peter all of Waukesha.  He is further survived by his parents Dr. John and Valeta Kuenzi of Waukesha, brother Dr. Rodney (Dr. Lana) Kuenzi of Waukesha, sisters Elizabeth (Curtis) Spotted Elk of Delavan and Sandi (John) Forster of Seattle, WA, mother-in-law Hortensia Castillo of Waukesha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his sister Elena Kuenzi on March 14, 2000 and brother Gerald Kuenzi on April 17, 2002.
Visitation will take place on Monday, January 11 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S.
