WAUKESHA-- Carl "Tom" Ekstrand of Waukesha, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at the age of 94. He was born on June 13, 1913 in Virginia, Minnesota to Carl T. and Winifred (nee: Leach) Ekstrand. He has been a Waukesha resident since 1934. On February 18, 1939 he married the former Lucile Poetsch at First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha. Tom was the owner of Ekstrand Insurance Agency from 1955 until his retirement in 1998. He was a 65-year member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Waukesha Lodge No. 37, Free & Accepted Masons, Tripoli Shrine, Waukesha County Shrine Club, a 32nd Degree Mason member of the Scottish Right, Valley of Milwaukee, and Waukesha Elks Lodge #400, where he was the past Exalted Ruler. He played the organ for the Masonic and Elks Lodge. He has lived at Avalon Square since 2003. Tom is survived by his wife Lucile, of Waukesha, daughter Deborah (Patrick) Bowe of Germantown, grandsons Shaun (Jacqueline) Bowe of Hartland and Ryan Bowe of Germantown, sister-in-law Catherine (John) Fauerbach of Lodi, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Terry in 1957, granddaughter Shannon in 1981, brothers Kenneth and Wilbur and sister Ruth. Visitation will be Friday, June 6 from 5:30 until 8:00 PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI with an Elks Lodge of Sorrow Service and Masonic Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation continues on Saturday, June 7 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha 53186. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
