Carly Ann Gilbertson passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 8, 2024, losing her battle to depression and addiction.
She was born in Waukesha on November 26, 1994, to parents Allen and Kelly (nee Byers) Gilbertson. Carly’s loving and caring nature was something that guided her through her life. Before graduating from Waukesha South Health Academy, and while simultaneously attending WCTC, she was able to earn her CNA license. Carly worked independently as a Home Health CNA working with clients who she loved deeply. Not only was she able to care for her clients, but her grandfather as well who she personally cared for until his death. She was also continuing her education in the health field through the UW system. Carly had a huge heart and was always willing to help family and friends.
Carly loved spending her time in Oconto. She especially enjoyed the outdoors, sailing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, and swimming. Come spring she was always the first to jump in frigid water. She also enjoyed a multitude of crafts and always invited friends over to get creative.
Her loving and caring nature didn’t extend to just her patients, family, and friends, but to her kitty’s as well. She was well known for her love, passion, and some may say obsession with her kitty’s Alice, Stinky, and Dip who will forever be her loves. Carly also had several loves that she grew up with, kitty’s Felix, Oscar, Bobo, and Boomer. Her beloved kitty Alfy will for sure be waiting for her.
Carly is survived by her loving parents; Kelly and Allen Gilbertson; beloved brothers, Erik Gilbertson (Kaitlin Robledo) and Mitchell Gilbertson; adoring grandparents, Don and Sue Gilbertson, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many cherished friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Karl and Carol Byers who will be there to welcome her home with loving arms.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Carly’s name to the Humane Animal Welfare Society HAWS of Waukesha County https://hawspets.givecloud.co/give . She was always grateful for their services and adopted several of her cats through them.
