Carol Schaefer

Carol M. Schaefer (nee Palmer), a lifelong Waukesha resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 31, 2012 at AngelsGrace Hospice with her family by her side at the age of 79. She was born in Waukesha on April 30, 1933 the daughter of the late Kenneth and Grace (nee Schaefer) Palmer. Carol worked a variety of different jobs including as a nurse’s aide at the Northview County Home. Carol enjoyed playing bingo, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her daughter Cindy, who had been her main caregiver the past three years and had been living in her home until her passing. She is loved and will be remembered by her children: Kenneth (Jonna) Schaefer of Waukesha, Donald (Madge) Schaefer of Waukesha, Greg (Tina) Schaefer of Waukesha, Sandy (Robert) Rank of Lannon, Cindy (Kenneth) LaChance of Mukwonago and Randy Schaefer of Arizona, her grandchildren: Ronald (Trish) Rank, Terry (Kim) Rank, Melissa (Charles) Greene, Craig (Loni) LaChance, TJ (Tiffany) LaChance, Nicole (Jeff) Franjevic, Alisha Schaefer, Kyle Sitter, Amera Schaefer and Kaycee Schaefer and 13 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers: Lester Palmer and Donald (Joyce) Palmer both of Waukesha, family friend Roy Rock of Arizona along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her grandson Donny Schaefer Jr., seven brothers and two sisters.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kristine Cooper and hospice nurse Jenny for their care provided to Carol. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 10:00AM until 11:30AM at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. A private family graveside service will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
