Carol Joan Warren, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family at the age of 82. She was born in Waushara County on August 11, 1930 the daughter of Arthur and Carrie (nee Davies) Gensmer. She was a 1948 graduate of Waupaca High School and went on to graduate from Carroll College in 1952 with her bachelor’s degree in music and English. Along with another couple and Duane Warren she established La Casa de Esperanza. Carol was a charter member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church when it first began in the 1950’s and was currently a member of Jerusalem Presbyterian Church in Wales. She sang in the Waukesha Choral Union for more than 20 years. Carol was an accomplished oil painter and was a member of the Waukesha Creative Arts League where she served as President for two terms. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was dedicated to her community.
She will be deeply missed by her children: Patricia (Roger) Putnam of Mukwonago, Julie (Phil) Koch of Springfield, Oregon, Randy (Sue) Warren of Tomahawk and Jennifer (Larry) Zielke of Waukesha, her grandchildren: Mandy Putnam of Brookfield, Emily (Dustin) Connors of Pewaukee, Clayton (Ashley) Putnam of Eagle, Jessie Putnam of Eagle, Margaret Koch of Wilsonville, OR, Sarah (Trevor) Brown of Medford, OR, Joseph Koch of Hillsboro, OR, Carrie Warren of Oshkosh and Taylor Warren of Tomahawk along with two great-grandchildren William Moran of Brookfield and Braelynn Rae Stolpa of Eagle along with another great-grandson on the way. She is further survived by her brother Charles Gensmer of Waupaca along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 3:00 until the 6:00PM funeral service all at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church, 207 W. Main Street Wales, WI 53183.
