Cecelia S. Boettcher a lifelong Waukesha County resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the age of 88. She was born in Pewaukee on May 17, 1928 the daughter of Wendlin and Magdeline (nee Arnold) Schick. On June 20, 1953, she married Harold C. Boettcher at St. Anthony Church in Pewaukee; he preceded her in death on October 11, 2012. Cecelia was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church since 1972 where she was active in the Dorcas Society. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery and loved to cook and bake. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, sitting with her children and grandchildren every Sunday around the dinner table.
She will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, Patricia (Gary) Bahr of Wales and Sandy (Scott) Joers of Johnson Creek and her cherished granddaughters, Jennifer “Jenni” Bahr of Wales, Michelle (fiancée Mike Newman) Joers of West Allis and Sarah Joers of Waukesha. She is further survived by her brothers, Robert (Phyllis) Schick of Lake Mills, Ed (Charlene) Schick of Watertown, her sister-in-law Shelby of Pewaukee along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Harold, she was preceded in death by her son David Allen Boettcher and her brothers John Schick, Joe (Ruth) Schick and Art Schick.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the 6:00 p.m. funeral service at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Reverend Lawrence Gates will preside. Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. for the procession to the cemetery. Memorials in Cecelia’s name are appreciated to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church (address above).
