WAUKESHA - Cecil B. Cox, age 82 of Waukesha, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Ruth Hospice in West Allis. He was born on September 27, 1925 in Fort Eustice, Virginia, the son of Stuart and Victoria (nee: Davis) Cox. After graduating from Glen Burnie High School in Maryland in 1944, he proudly served his country as a radioman in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1947. On August 26, 1950, he married Janet Fletcher Mason in Elgin, Illinois. Cecil earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electicial Engineering in 1952 from the University of Denver. He obtained a position at Allis Chalmers, later transitioning to A.T.C. Betatron, where he worked until retirement. Service and charity were important to Cecil, shown through his commitment to family, church, country, and community. With a love for the outdoors, he enjoyed bird watching and hiking, and also enjoyed photography. He will be deeply missed by his family. Cecil is survived by his wife Janet of Pewaukee; his son, Stuart Douglas (Ethel Joy) Cox of CA; his daughter, Margaret "Peggy" (Barry Douglas) Cox of Seattle, WA; two grandchildren: Emily and Benjamin Cox; siblings: Ernest Cox, Hester McNeilly, and Barry Cox; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and his parents. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at 3:00 PM at First Congregational Church, 100 E. Broadway, Waukesha, WI, with fellowship to follow the service at the church. Memorials in Cecil's name may be made to First Congregational Church Endowment Fund (address above).
