Charles E. Hoppe of Waukesha passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the age of 90. He was born in Chicago, IL on December 26, 1928 the son of Albert and Florence (nee Lightheart) Hoppe. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. Charles enjoyed playing the trumpet in a dance band with his good friend Frank Hitz. This is where he met his wife Jane (nee Bunde) and they were married on September 5, 1953. Charles was a longtime member of the Evangelical & Reformed UCC in Waukesha where he served as an usher and along with his wife were youth group leaders. He had a successful career in the food sales brokerage for many years. Charles found great enjoyment in being outdoors in his yard and especially loved being with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Christine Jorgensen of Waterford, his son Timothy Hoppe of Oregon, his grandchildren, Byron (Sarah) Jorgensen, Kaitlin (Brian) Touey, Crystal (Brian) Ward, Clayton Hoppe and Andria Hoppe and great-grandchildren, Madison, Keagan, Arlo and Magnolia. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane on July 18, 2002, his son John Hoppe, his 4-legged companion Buddy, and his brothers and sisters.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Randle-Dable Brisk Funeral Home 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 from 11:00AM until the 1:00PM funeral service. Private burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin on Monday.
