Charlotte Stickles

Charlotte F. Stickles, age 94, of Waukesha, died November 17, 2009 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.  She was born November 21, 1914 in Milwaukee to Clarence J. and Lillian M (nee Williamson) Armstrong.  Her family later began farming in the Town of Ottawa.  She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1932 and began working at the Wisconsin State Sanitarium in Wales.  She met Howard Stickles, who worked at the Stickles Garage and Diner in Wales.  They married on her birthday in 1938.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha.  Charlotte was a stay at home Mom who delighted in caring for her family.  Once her sons reached high school age, she took typing and shorthand courses and became the office manager at Sealtite Insulation Company in Waukesha.  Once retired she delighted in caring for the home that Howard and she built.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed walking wherever she needed to go. Above all she was devoted to her family. She will be sadly missed by her family members.  Her family includes her eldest son Kenneth (Glynda) Stickles, and their daughters Kimberly (Don) Allen, Kelli (Chris) Stickles and granddaughter Caroline Allen, all of California.  Her youngest son Gordon (Jean) Stickles resides in Waukesha.  Gordon’s children include Leah (Mike) Fehling, Cheryl (John) Jordens, and Scott (Rachel) Stickles and grandchildren, Sam and Kelly Fehling, Kristen and Allison Jordens, Noah, Emily and Evan Stickles all of Wisconsin.  She is further survived by her brother and sister in law Richard and Evelyn Armstrong; plus numerous nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Stickles was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard, her sister LaVerne Fejnas, and daughter in law Bonnie Stickles. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Randle Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery immediately following the service.  Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 810 N.
