Cruz Garcia) Chavez

Cruz G. Chavez, of Waukesha, died on Friday, May 15, 2009 at her home at the age of 78.  She was born on May 3, 1931 in Seguin, Texas the daughter of Nazario and Guadalupe (nee Manzanalen) Garcia.  On August 14, 1948 she married Gustavo Chavez; he preceded her in death on May 4, 1998.  She worked for many years at Grede Foundry.  She was also the owner of La Michoacana Grocery Store in Milwaukee until her retirement in 1993.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1970.   Cruz will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  She is survived by her children: Gustavo Chavez, Jr. of Waukesha, Diamantina (Andrew) Bowden of Countryside, IL, Rosalinda (Julian) Guel of Waukesha, Julio (Norma) Chavez of Waukesha, John (Debbie) Chavez of Waukesha, and Larry Velasquez-Guel of Waukesha, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters: Natalia Medina of Waukesha, Constance Garcia of Waukesha, Carlos (Delia) Garcia of Waukesha, Julian (Tava) Garcia of Milwaukee and Raul (Nevia) Garcia of San Antonio, Texas.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.  In addition to her husband Gustavo, she is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Lou Chavez, brothers and sisters: Siprano Garcia, Gregoria Alvarez, Victor Garcia, and Eusebio Garcia, and her parents. Visitation will be on Monday, May 18, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. A Rosary service will be held at 8:00PM. Services continues on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 with prayers at the funeral home beginning at 8:15AM followed by a procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 for the 9:00AM Funeral Mass. Rev. Bill Key will preside.
