WAUKESHA—Curry R. Hopf, of Waukesha, was welcomed home by his heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Linden Heights at the age of 91. He was born on April 21, 1917 to Ralph and Pearl (nee: O’Connor) Hopf. On August 3, 1940 he married the former Hazel Leberman in Waukesha. He had worked for Mahoney Sporting Goods from 1930 until 1960 and then worked at J.C. Penny from 1960 until 1975. Curry was a faithful member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church where he had been vice president of AAL, now Thrivent for Lutherans. He is lovingly survived by his daughter-in-law Dorothy (Terry) Treuden of Sussex, grandchildren: Stephanie (Greg) Lamas of Long Beach, CA, Angela Hopf of Milwaukee, Veronica (Ryan) Westcot of Milwaukee, Bret (Cici) Hopf of Brown Deer, his step-grandchildren: Daniel Treuden of South Milwaukee, Becky (Jonathan) Beckler of Muskego, Rachel (Lucas) Boehm of South St. Paul, MN, Jesse (Jenny) Treuden of West Allis, Pete Treuden of Milwaukee and Jeremy Treuden of Sussex and 12 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers David and Randy, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth and Charles Knoebel and sister-in-law, Pearl Stearns, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, on October 24, 2008, his son Rev. Jeff Hopf and sister Jeanne Hopf. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29 from 9:30 am until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Ave., Waukesha. Rev. Arthur Koepsell will preside. Graveside services will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church.
