Daniel “Danny” Margarito Garcia of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 16, 2017 at home surrounded by his family at the age of 54. He was born in Waukesha on January 1, 1963 the son of Margarito “Henry” and Olivia (nee Garza) Garcia. He was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater where he was proud to bring back the Delta Chi Fraternity. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree from Concordia University in Student Personnel Administration. Danny worked in social work for the YMCA, before working as a student advisor at UW-Milwaukee for many years. Most recently he worked as a care manager for the Salvation Army in Milwaukee. He loved dancing and theater, and was a huge fan of sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, the Wisconsin Badgers and the UW-Whitewater football team. Danny had a passion for helping others and cherished his family and friends.
He will be sadly missed by his husband James Sutrick of Milwaukee whom he married December 23, 2014, his father Henry Garcia of Waukesha, his sisters, Sandra (Ricardo) Gomez of Milwaukee and Margo (Jim) Camacho of Waukesha, his brother Reynaldo Garcia of Waukesha, his step-son Jacob (fiancée Samantha Cheaney) Sutrick of Milwaukee and step-grandchild Makenna. He is further survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Edwin and Irene Sutrick of Hartford, his sisters-in-law Catherine (Michael) Kehrmann, Jeanne (Dennis) Totsky and Barbara Suleski, his brother-in-law, Dave (Lisa) Sutrick, his nieces and nephews Leticia (Chico) Diaz, Sylena Gomez, Alyssa (John) Holman, Adriana Gomez, Enrique (Madeline) Camacho, Abraham (Katie) Camacho, Esteban (Amanda) Camacho, Marisa Camacho, Olivia Camacho, Bill (Erin) Kehrmann, Courtney, Sydney and Amy Kehrmann, Jason (Cassie) Gevaart, Matthew and Jordyn Sutrick, Jessica, Samantha and Joshua Totsky and Sarah Jo Suleski, great nieces and nephews Amina and Analise Holman, Lelani Diaz Castillo, Freddy Duarte, Nikolas, Mariana, Wyatt and Elias Camacho and Cayden Gevaart, his Godparents, Pedro and Virginia Rodriguez, his four-legged companions Mamita, GG and Julio along with cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Olivia Garcia on October 5, 2016 and his beloved dog, Bandito.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues on Monday, July 24th at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Father Chuck Wrobel will preside. Private entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
