Daniel Winter

October 24, 1928 — November 8, 2009

Daniel N. “Danny” Winter of New Berlin passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at West Allis Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on October 24, 1928, the son of Joseph and Alice (Williams) Winter.  Danny proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army.  He spent almost 4 years in Germany during the Korean War and loved sharing his stories with his children and grandchildren.  Danny married his bride, Josephine Gonzalez, on June 27, 1953 and was proud to tell everyone about his 56 years of wedded bliss.  He worked for Kearney & Trecker in West Allis for 35 years until retirement.  His hobbies included woodworking, coin collecting, and aviation.  With a love of old cars, he was a former member of the Wisconsin Corvette Club with his 1965 Coupe.  But most of all, Danny enjoyed spending time with family.   Danny will be dearly missed by his wife, Josephine “Josie”; his daughter, Cindy (Tim) Pitterle; his son, Jim (Cheryl) Winter; grandchildren:  Jon, Ryan, Kevin, and Michael Pitterle, and Leigh Ann, Gina, and Bobbijo Winter.  He was welcomed into heaven by his loving son, Robert, his parents, brother, Bob, and sister, Blanche.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM, with a time for sharing at 7:00 PM.  Visitation continues on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 18000 W. Greenfield Ave., Brookfield, from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM, with the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.  Fr. Kenneth Augustine will preside.  Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha with full military honors.  Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 305 E.
