David L. Addie “Dave” of Rowlett, TX, formerly of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at his home with his sister holding his hand. He was born in Watertown, WI on October 29, 1950, the son of the late Willis and Marion (nee Howe) Addie. He moved to Waukesha when he was 6 years old and graduated from Waukesha High School in 1968. Dave attended the University of WI-Waukesha, the University of WI-Madison and graduated with a BBA degree from the University of WI-Milwaukee in December, 1973. He packed his car and moved to Dallas, TX in January, 1974 to escape the Wisconsin winters.
Dave worked in the oil and gas industry for 40 years and retired from Atmos Energy in September, 2017. He was a very dedicated member of Joy Lutheran Church in Rockwall, TX and was a man of great faith. He was known to be an avid WI Badger fan! Dave loved kids and was fondly known as Uncle Tex to his niece, nephew, great-nephews and great-nieces. He was loved and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his sister Sue Bangle of Waukesha; niece Jenny (Brian) Czarniak; nephew Jon Bangle (partner Emilie); great-nephews Taylen, Chasen and Ryker; great-nieces Malena and Izzy; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 2:00pm until the 3:00pm memorial service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha, WI 53186, where Dave grew up and was confirmed. A light supper to follow. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
