David H. Channel, of Waukesha, died unexpectedly on July 5, 2018 at his home at the age of 70. He was born on March 3, 1948, in Kankakee, IL, the son of Glendon and Genevieve (nee Heyerman) Channel. He received his Bachelor’s degree at Northern Illinois University, where he also played football, and his Master’s degree at Winona State University in Minnesota. For many years he taught history, driver’s education, coached wrestling and football at Round Lake High School. He was a nationally certified wrestling coach and a member of the Round Lake HS Hall of Fame. David was an avid fisherman and model train enthusiast. He was a dedicated fan of the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and Milwaukee Brewers.
He will be dearly missed by his life partner and soulmate Penny Goodyear, along with her children Becky (Bill) Pease and Andy (Carrie) Goodyear. He was cherished by Colton, Gavin, Evelyn and Linley. He is further survived by his dear cousins Betty (John) Balk, Nancy Phillips and Tom (Connie) Heyerman, many friends and colleagues. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Carson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13th from 4:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. memorial service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Waukesha, WI. Burial of cremated remains will take place on Tuesday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Jerusalem Cemetery in Wales, WI. Memorials in David’s name are appreciated to the Morris Animal Foundation, 720 S.
