David L. Dix, Sr. died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. He was 81 years old.
A graduate of Waukesha High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, David also served in the U.S. Army. Professionally, David was an interior designer, a cab driver, a realtor and ultimately, an artist.
Creative endeavors, especially writing were his favorite pursuits. A poet and essayist, he self-published “Vulcan Weathervanes” during his art welding days. He contributed articles to “Landmark”, a publication of the Waukesha Historical Society, and with the arrival of the internet, graduated to a weekly blog, “The Waukesha Sewer Raccoon News”.
He is survived by his wife, Dee (Means), children David, Jr. (Sue), Laurie (Phil), Erin (Ben) and Leland. His daughter, Hannah, predeceased him. Siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends also abound.
