David Sackett

David J. Sackett, of Waukesha, passed away June 18, 2011 at the age of 63. He was born in Rhinelander on September 1 1947 to David and Helen (nee:Borda) Sackett. David was employed at GE Medical Systems for 33 years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed reading, watching baseball, football, boxing and NASCAR. David and his sons started watching the original Twilight Zone series and also enjoyed going to the movie theater. David was a faithful member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church for 24 years. On August 14, 1971 he married Frances Gilbert, in Rhinelander. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Sackett of Waukesha and their four children: Kurt Sackett, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Christopher (Karen) Sackett of Hartland; Michael Sackett and Jeffery Sackett both of Waukesha; three grandchildren Kurtis, Melissa, and Christopher. David is further survived by his brothers and sisters; Robert (Christine) Sackett of Rhinelander; Helen (John) Edwardson of Rhinelander; Polly (Kurt) Bruns of California; Pete Sackett of Rhinelander and Teddy Sackett (Don); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI from 4:00 until 7:00PM with a vigil service at 7:00PM. Services continue on Friday, June 24 at the funeral home with prayers at 9:15am followed by a procession to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. State Road 59, for the 10:00AM funeral Mass. Father John P. Schreiter will preside. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
