Dean Henry Charlevoix

Dean H. Charlevoix of Waukesha passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the age of 91. He was born in Milwaukee on May 24, 1932 the son of James and Martha (nee Bloechlinger) Charlevoix. On August 26, 1967 he married Diane (Miller) Charlevoix at St. William Catholic Church.

By elementary school the family relocated to Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Living on the lake, Dean spent countless hours fishing, swimming, and sailing with friends. Dean continued school in Milwaukee, commuting daily with his father. Dean proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the VFW. Dean could be found tinkering in his garage, proudly restoring a Model A and Model T. He also loved his “Saturday morning meeting” with the guys in his garage. He worked as a mechanic for many years, retiring from Federal Express. In retirement he and Diane moved to Adams-Friendship where he loved being on his tractor and generally outdoors. Dean cherished his family and his faith, was always helpful and had a caring heart.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Diane and their four daughters, Donna (Glen Romine) Charlevoix, Ann (Rob) Vogel, Nancy (Dave) Brochhausen and Lynn (Chris Hastings) Charlevoix; grandchildren, Paul Brochhausen, Cara Brochhausen, Evelyn Romine, and Madeline Romine. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Marilyn (Dave) Krueger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Charlevoix, sister Jeanne Moretti and brother-in-law John Miller.

Visitation and a funeral mass will take place at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188 on Wednesday December 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM memorial Mass.
