Delmer H. Trevorrow of Sun Prairie, formerly of Waukesha, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his home in Sun Prairie at the age of 96. He was born in Mifflin, Wisconsin on February 11, 1923 to Delmer C. and Bessie (nee Blackney) Trevorrow. Delmer grew up as a farmer in western Waukesha County and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and Salem United Methodist Church in Waukesha. He will be remembered as a hard-working and caring man. Nicknamed “Sonny” in his youth; it was a reflection of his radiating smile and infectious good humor. Having worked many years for Warren Oil in Waukesha, he purchased a Shell Oil distributorship and ran a successful business in Hartford, WI. Never at ease with a restful retirement, Del owned and operated the D&B café in Fox Lake, WI and eventually hired-on as a school bus driver with the Necedah School District.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Arleen Sasser of Sun Prairie and the kind and thoughtful extended Sasser family. His daughter Shirley (Thomas) Mork, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Trevorrow and brother Lonny (Connie) Trevorrow all grieve his passing. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Delmer was preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years, Beth M. Trevorrow (nee Warren), sons, Dennis and Richard Trevorrow, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
A celebration of Delmer’s life will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Randle-Dable Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave from 5:00PM until time of the 7:30PM Memorial Service. Full military honors will follow the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Agrace Hospice through the Agrace Foundation, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison WI 53711. They were a godsend to Del in his final years.
