Dominic F. Zizzo, of Waukesha, died on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at AngelsGrace Hospice surrounded by his family at the age of 85. He was born in Porticello, Sicily on July 7, 1928 the son of Thomas and Rosalia (nee Sanfilippo) Zizzo. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On July 23, 1953 he married Angelina Mistretta. Dominic worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail handler for 28 years. He enjoyed woodworking, cooking, gardening and spending time with his family. Dominic was a dedicated and excellent caregiver to his wife and his son. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Angelina of Waukesha and their children, Louis (Hilda) Zizzo of Rochester, MN, Rosanne (Vincent) Zizzo-Smith of Waukesha and Thomas Zizzo of Waukesha. He was the dear grandfather of Desiré (Edward) Sommers, Alexander, Kali, Nic and Sara and great-grandfather of Damien and Hunter. He is further survived by his brothers Joseph and Tony (Victoria) Zizzo along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters Angie and Antoinette and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 9:30AM until 11:30AM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A procession will follow the visitation to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue in Waukesha for the 12:00 Noon funeral Mass. Father Bill Key will preside. A private family interment with full military honors will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.
