Donald E. Jahn of Mukwonago, died Monday, January 2, 2017 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. He was born on November 30, 1928 in Milwaukee, to Henry and Louise (nee Sudbrink) Haselbarth. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the volunteer fire department for the town of Waukesha for many years and later for the North Prairie Fire Department, where he became Chief. He has been a longtime member of Reformation Ev. Lutheran Church in Genesee. On October 16, 2004, he married the former Irmgard Oschman.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Irmgard of Mukwonago, along with his children Sandra (Joseph) Svitak of Menomonee Falls, Chris (Rebecca) Jahn of Phoenix, AZ and Ann (Christopher) Bumgardner of the town of Lisbon; his step-children Bonnie (Charles Osthelder) Kennedy of CA and Michael (Karen) Kennedy of Eagle. Dear grandfather of Brad (Anita) Wellford, Jason (Stacy) Wellford, Paul Jahn, Katlyn (Ryan) Fletcher, Michelle Jahn, Kyle Jahn, Casey Jahn, Craig Bumgardner, Evan Bumgardner and Adam Bumgardner. He is further survived by his great-grandson Miles Wellford, Daughter-in-law Teresa Jahn of Waukesha, his brother Norman (Darlene) Jahn of Sussex, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife Grace (nee Tessman) Jahn, his son Fred Jahn and his sister June Winter.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. funeral service at Reformation Ev. Lutheran Church, S39 W32887 Hwy D (corners of Hwy D & E) Dousman, WI 53118 with Rev. Jonathan Arndt presiding. Burial will take place on Monday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park. Please meet at the cemetery office. Memorials are appreciated to the family to be designated to charities near to their heart.
