Donald D. LaPlante

Donald D. LaPlante, 88, of New Berlin, died Thursday, July 6, 2023 following a brief illness.  He was born in Sturgeon Bay, WI on December 24, 1934 to Arthur and Mary LaPLante. Donald was employed as a roofer, he enjoyed deer hunting, bingo, playing cards, the lottery and going to the casino.  He loved camping and enjoyed the family’s annual camping trip to Shawano, WI where the family would spend two weeks right before school started.  Above all, Donald loved his family and enjoyed when everyone could be together.  On May 1, 1954 he married the former Marlene Coleman at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukesha.  She preceded him in death on July 14, 2012.

Donald is the loving father to John LaPlante, Kenny (Chris) LaPLante, Jim (Marilyn) LaPlante. Rocky (Mary) LaPlante and the late Connie Sweet. Dear grandpa to Tony, Troy, Bob, Michael, Nicole, Jackie, Sarah, Tom, Melissa, Jason, Angela, the late Justin and Nicholas.  He is further survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene, daughter Connie Sweet on June 1, 2015 ; and his grandsons Justin and Nicholas.

In lieu of flowers memorial to the family are appreciated.

Visitation and Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 18000 W. Greenfield Ave., Brookfield.  Funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Kenneth J. Augustine presiding.  Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
