Donald E. Valentine, Formally of Waukesha, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the age of 76. He was born on July 30, 1940, in Lincoln, IL, the son of Ralph and Lenore (nee Booth) Valentine. He was in the 1959 class of Waukesha High School. He attended Carroll College and received his associates degree from WCTC. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. On July 9, 1966 he married the former Diane Altwies at First Baptist Church in Waukesha. He was a member of First Baptist Church and since 2000 has been a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where he was active in the Men’s Group. He had worked as a consultant for many companies. He enjoyed being a Dousman Derby Dancer, cooking and traveling the country with Diane in their 5th wheel.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Diane, along with their children Suzanne Valentine of Waukesha, Margi (Chad Gehin) Valentine of Middleton and Peter (Ann) Valentine of West Allis. Dear grandfather of Michael Dowty, Jordan, Andi, Joleen, Morgan and George. He is further survived by his brothers David (Carole) Valentine of Waukesha and Paul Valentine of Waukesha; sister Myrna Valentine of Waukesha; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10 from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. memorial service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St. Waukesha, 53186. Following cremation, he will be buried at sea. Memorials are appreciated to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (address above).
