Donnie J. Lambert

Donnie J. Lambert, 86, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Mission Creek Senior Living Facility in Waukesha. She was born on October 6, 1938 in South Bend Indiana, the daughter of George and Marguerite Bair. She was an active member of Southminster Presbyterian Church. Donnie loved her job at GE Medical Systems where she met many lifelong friends and retired in 2000 after 23 years at GE. She was very active in the Waukesha Parks and Recreation program and really enjoyed the exercise classes and the people she met there. Donnie loved knitting, crocheting, and was a voracious reader, sometimes finishing a whole book in one day. She was also a passionate Brewers and Packers fan.

She is loved by many and will be sadly missed by her two sons; Kevin (Louise) Slates of Norfolk, Virginia and Mark Slates of Waukesha; her 6 grandchildren: Derek (Shannon) Slates, Rachel (Eric) Melchior, Stephanie (Phil von Maltzahn) Slates, Turk (Kelley) Slates, Caitlin (Brandon) Bartlett, and Alex Slates; 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Burt, and her brother James Bair, and sisters Barbara Hensler, and JoAnn Hixenbaugh.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10th at Randle-Dable Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave Waukesha from 11:00 AM with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. Rev. Dr. Christian Boyd will preside. Burial and graveside prayers will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.

Donnie’s family and friends would like to thank the great staff at Mission Creek for the outstanding care they provided to her over the last 6-years. Memorials are appreciated to Alzheimers Association.
