Doreen Anders Manak, of Waukesha, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. She was born on July 9, 1924 in Delia, Kansas to Jesse and Pearl (nee: Richardson) Anders. On April 19, 1945 she married Joseph Manak and they shared 35 years together before his death on April 20, 1980. For many years, she and Joe owned a farm on Highway F south of Highway M. Later they owned Supreme Bottling Company and Beverage Mart in Waukesha. Doreen had been a member of First Congregational UCC for most of her life where she held many lay positions, including that of Moderator. She was very active with her friends where she golfed, played in many bridge clubs and excelled in bowling achieving many National Honor Scores. She also found great pleasure in entertaining her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her son Thomas (Rosemary “Ro”) Manak of Glen Ellyn, IL, brothers Ray (Betty) Anders of Waukesha and Ivan (Patricia) Anders of Sun Prairie, sister Betty (George) Venes of Waukesha, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brothers Jesse, Virgil and Dean and brother-in-law Carl Manak. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent in Doreen’s name to First Congregational Church, Waukesha.
