Doris Morris

DOUSMAN—Doris E. Morris of Dousman, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Three Pillars Masonic Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Dousman at the age of 86.  She was born on June 17, 1922 in the Town of Ottawa to Harvey and Jessie (nee:  Barnhart) Lurvey.  She was a 1940 graduate of Oconomowoc High School.  On October 18, 1942 she married G. Arden Morris, who preceded her in death in 1988. She had worked as the clerk for the Town of Ottawa and bookkeeper for Eichstadts Implement in Wales.  She played the flute in high school and later for the Oconomowoc American Legion Band.  She has been a member of Jerusalem Presbyterian Church since 1950 and a former member of Moriah Presbyterian Church.  Doris was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Dousman Chapter #257.  Doris and Arden, in partnership with Arden’s brother, Maldwyn and his wife Inez, owned and operated Arwyn Farms, located among rolling hills between Dousman and Wales for over 40 years.  Their herd of registered Holsteins received numerous honors, including national show winners and All-American recognition.  Doris was a tireless volunteer at the Waukesha County Fair and a familiar face at shows and sales, continuing her interest and involvement until her death. She will be sadly missed by her sons George A. (Bonnie) Morris of Dousman, Glen Allan (Jean L.) Morris of Mustang, OK and Thomas R. (Sandra) Morris of Amery, WI, foster daughter Cathy Clay of CA, grandchildren Anne Beier of Mt. Horeb, Abbie (Bob) Jackson of Oconomowoc, Jeff (Marcie) Morris of Wisconsin Dells, Jason Morris of Wisconsin Dells, Moriah (Tony) Brey of Sturgeon Bay and Adam Morris of Amery.  She is further survived by great-grandchildren Sam and Molly Jackson, Laura and Joshua Beier and Max and J.T. Morris, brother Allan (Doris) Lurvey of Dousman, sister Helen Hayhurst of Dousman, special friend Al Berg of Dousman, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband G. Arden Morris, brother William (Blanche) Lurvey and brother-in-law John Hayhurst.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI.  Visitation continues on Wednesday, April 1 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Order of Eastern Star service followed by the funeral service at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church, 207 Main St. in Wales with Rev.
