Dorothy I. Diehl, of Waukesha, died on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Waukesha Springs at the age of 85. She was born in Eagle, WI on July 30, 1929 the daughter of Albert and Minnie (nee Knuth) Raduechel. She was a 1947 graduate of Eagle High School. On April 19, 1952 she married Gerald Diehl; he preceded her in death in 1999. Dorothy worked for Waukesha Engine and then as a unit clerk at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for 40 years. When Dorothy was 12 she worked as a personal assistant to triple Oscar winning actress Janet Gaynor. She was a member of the Waukesha Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 60 years.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Dan Diehl of Fredericksburg, VA, Jerry (Cyndi) Diehl of Fredonia, Mindy Diehl of New Berlin and Ralph Diehl of Waukesha. She was the dear grandmother of Jennifer Diehl and Charles Philip Butler and step-grandmother of Nicole (David) Burns and step-great-grandmother of Brooklyn. She is further survived by her brother Roy (the late Gladys) Raduechel of Eagle, her sister Beatrice (the late Charles) Egglston of Mukwonago along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Gerald, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Ralph, Ray, Florence, Robert, Ruth and Helen.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 4:00PM until the time of the 7:00PM funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Alvin J. Pulcifer will preside. Private family entombment will be held on Saturday at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials in Dorothy’s name are appreciated to Kingdom Hall, Waukesha Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, W230 S3250 Milky Way Road, Waukesha, WI 53189.
