Dorothy H. Kuster of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the age of 97. She was born in Milwaukee on May 1, 1927 the daughter of Gustav and Erna Zeisler. On April 7, 1951 she married Richard Kuster at Sherman Park Ev. Lutheran Church in Milwaukee; he preceded her in death on December 6, 2008. Dorothy loved gardening, knitting, and spending time with her grandkids but her greatest passion was music. She played piano and was a talented celloist playing for the Waukesha Symphony for over 50 years.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Chris (Rick) Marshall, Marcus (Brie) Kuster, Kathy (Bob) Rink and Carrie (Gerry) Majeskie; her grandchildren, Michael Marshall, Melissa (Duane) McWilliams, Daniel Marshall, Kayla Kuster, Lauren (Alex) Brackett, Jennifer Buscemi, Rachel (Craig) Lange, David (Elizabeth) Rink and Angela (Aaron) Mickle; and great-grandchildren, Lillian Marshall, Eleanor & Evan McWilliams, Audrey Brackett, Adrian Lerner, Ethan, Owen and Adeline Rink, Kylie, Shay and Liam Lange, and Olivia, Eve and Amelia Mickle. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, lifelong friend Jean Gehrt, special friend Nancy Korslin and other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Brittany Buscemi and her 5 siblings.
Honoring Dorothy’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held for the family. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family to be used for causes close to Dorothy’s heart.
