Dorothy M. Sinkovits, a lifelong Waukesha resident, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 surrounded by her family at Oak Hill Terrace at the age of 88 years. She was born in Waukesha on April 20, 1926 the daughter of Alexander and Rose (nee Marose) Gowans. On April 27, 1946 she married Thomas Sinkovits; he preceded her in death in 1996. Dorothy worked for Old Tavern Food Products for 49 years. She was a lifelong and devoted member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, sewing and knitting but most of all she cherished her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted daughters, Mary (Glen) Gormanson of Waukesha, Linda (Jeff Lazio) Sinkovits of Waukesha and Carol (Patrick Gallagher) Bertam of Waukesha. She was the dear grandmother of Kelly (Patrick) Barron of Waukesha, Jenniffer (Michael) Hintz of Appleton, Keith (Brittany) Gormanson of Waukesha, Amy (Daniel) Prebil of Waukesha and Rebecca Bertram of Waukesha and great-grandmother of Tyler and Jacob Prebil, Thomas, Abbigail and Samuel Hintz and Jude Barron. She is further survived by her sister Mavene Koentop of Waukesha along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 4:00 until 7:00PM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Visitation continues on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 11:00AM until the time of the 12:00 noon funeral service at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Avenue, Waukesha. Pastor Lawrence Gates will preside. Burial will immediately follow the service at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials in Dorothy’s name are appreciated to Trinity Ev.
