Dorothy A. Storms a longtime Waukesha resident, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the age of 95. She was born in Waukesha on June 15, 1924 the daughter of Arthur and Anna (nee Katzner) Karl. Following her graduation from high school, Dorothy worked as a telephone operator and then for the Waukesha School District in the kitchen and as a custodian at Randall School. However, her greatest accomplishment and joy was raising her three daughters. Dorothy was a huge Milwaukee Brewers fan and absolutely loved Bob Uecker. She was a good christian and member of Waukesha Bible Church for almost 60 years where she taught Sunday School and Awana and helped in the kitchen. Dorothy found enjoyment in dining out, especially at the Rochester Deli and having frozen Custard at LeDuc’s. She was happiest when she was with her family and she especially loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was always patient, happy and lived a good life and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her three loving daughters, Barbara Gates of Watertown, Janet Patz of Muskego and Ruth Pritzlaff of Waukesha, her three cherished grandchildren, Michael (Susan) Gates of Eagle, Matt (Heather) Gates of Watertown and Jessica Patz of Muskego and her four precious great-grandchildren, Ben, Steven, Jacob and Sydney Gates. She is further survived by her sister Eleanor Sussek of Reedsburg, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Pritzlaff, great-grandson Kermit Gates, her brothers and sisters, Richard Karl, Florence Pierson, Walter Karl and Dolores Foncannon and sons-in-law, Jerry Schamens and Lee Patz.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service at Waukesha Bible Church, S53 W24079 Glendale Rd., Waukesha, WI 53189. Dorothy requested that you wear Brewer’s clothes/gear in her honor. Graveside services will take place Monday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery. Memorials in Dorothy’s name are appreciated to St. Coletta of Wisconsin – Norris House, Waukesha Bible Church or to the family.
