Dorothy Mae Yopps, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, May 27, 2013 at Seasons Hospice at the age of 94 years. She was born in Maquoketa, Iowa on August 19, 1918 the daughter of Adolf and Buelah (nee McDonald) Bergmeister. Dorothy was a devoted homemaker all her life who was known for being an excellent cook. She enjoyed sewing and was a marvelous seamstress. Dorothy was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She had a great love for her grandchildren and will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and very dear grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her three loving children, Paul (Ellen) Yopps of Sun City, AZ, Charliene Schweder of Waukesha and Carolyn Yopps (David) of Palm Harbor, FL, her 10 precious grandchildren, Thomas Yopps, Joliene Yopps, Karen Adamak, Jeannette Albano, Brian Yopps, David Schweder, Suzie Guy, Becky Maercklein and Gregory Kind as well as by 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Carolyn Riedel of Pewaukee along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph on January 29, 2006, by her granddaughter Jennifer Schweder, her sisters Betty and Paulina and by her brother George.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00PM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha. Please meet directly at the Church. Father Bill Key will preside.
